Last week was our good friend Cathy's birthday, and she requested a strawberry birthday cake made by Mark. After much searching, Mark and I found a recipe that is a keeper! It was sooooo yummy!!! Believe it or not, we could only find 2 recipes that didn't start with a cake mix. You know Mark..... there is NO cake mix in our house!! Has to be completely homemade! Happy Birthday Cathy - next year we'll celebrate in Paris!Look how gooey that icing was - cream cheese, butter, an entire box of powdered sugar and strawberries...it should be gooey!!!
Today I found them upstairs in his room with the door closed. When I opened it, they were in his toddler bed, which is still in his room, reading together. They play so well together - just wish it would last!Nina is enjoying being driven around by Ethan - although she looks pretty concerned here. He's so gentle while she's in the Jeep with him and so rough once she gets out.

Cute pictures of the kids together, and the cake does look gooey and yummy! Have a great week!
I think my glucose meter jumped 50 points just looking at the cake...it looks wonderful! Children are beautiful as always. Hope I get to see them soon. Tell Ethan I will try hard to have my "little girl" with me the next time you are home. She is intrigued with her new little cousin but gets very indignant when he sleeps in our port-a-crib...not that she EVER wants to be in it again herself.
Love you, Mrs. Sandra
The cake did look very good. The kids look like they are doing well. Hope you are doing well too. I think of you often. This passed Monday marked 3 years since my Dad passed. hard to believe. Time heals but it does not take it away. We were thinking of you and your family while we were all together.
Yummy!
Ethan is already fulfilling the role of protective big brother. That's so sweet!
Love the pictures! I made a strawberry cake this week too, but, alas, it was a cake mix! Sorry, Mark!
The cake looks go good! The pictures of the kids are so cute. I love the one of them reading books. Avery had been asking about Ethan and Baby Nina today. She always says Baby Nina. I wonder if she thinks her name is really Baby Nina.
Cute pics! That cake....oh my!! That looks so good. I made gooey butter cakes last night & thought of you. I overcooked them (oops), but they were still yummy.
I had a dream last night we came to see ya'll & you were telling me you had been dreaming about your Dad & that ya'll were riding in the car talking to each other. I don't know where that came from....maybe cuz I was thinking about ya!!
Anyway-we think of you often & pray for you & your family every day. It's good to see a blog update. :)
They are sooooo cute! How nice they play together too. He will be sooo protective of her in a few years! That cake looks delicious! Maybe one of these days I can taste one of Mark's cake - I have heard everything he bakes is fabulous!!!
I've got a pound cake in your cake tote's cousin. I'm not sure why that made me de-lurk. Love the Jeep!
What a good big brother Ehtan is! He will keep all those boys away from Nina when she gets older.
That cake does look good!! I love it too when the kids play nicely together. It's great when there little and when they are teenagers!
Hey Mandy. I couldn't find your e-mail address. I know I have it somewhere. Anyway, I am not sure what hospital my friend is in, but I just got an e-mail that said they are sending her home tomorrow and she will see here doctor here. I think his parents came and got their little girl on Sunday. Thanks for your prayers and offers of help, though!! They are much appreciated. Hope you are doing well.
